With Agroskill Social Welfare Foundation Is Transforming Agriculture
With Agroskill Ngo Is Transforming Agriculture In 2 Acres Of Land, Farmer Praveen Kumar Bharadwaj Is Earning 10-15 Thousand Rupees Every Week Through Organic Vegetable Farming. During The Covid-19 Pandemic, People's Attention In India Shifted Towards Natural And Nutritious Food, Increasing The Demand For Organic Vegetables. Praveen Kumar Bharadwaj's Nephews, Surendra Bharadwaj (22 Years) And Sachin Bharadwaj (25 Years), Also Practice Organic Farming On Their Respective 2-Acre Plots Of Land. They Earn A Similar Income From Vegetable Farming.
When Asked About Their Earnings, Praveen Kumar Bharadwaj States That They Make Around 10-15 Thousand Rupees Per Week From Vegetables, And His Nephews Also Earn A Similar Amount. The Bharadwaj Family's Monthly Income From Vegetable Farming Is Approximately One To One And A Half Lakh Rupees, Including Expenses.
Praveen Kumar Bharadwaj Shifted To Organic Farming About Three Years Ago, Realizing The Benefits Of Organic Farming Over Conventional Methods. With Guidance From Agricultural Extension Officer Gopal Patil, They Transitioned To Organic Farming.
Chhattisgarh Has Witnessed An Increase In Demand For Organic Farming And Organic Products In Recent Years. The State Has One Of The Largest Areas Under Organic Farming In India. As Of March 2020, India Had Approximately 2.78 Million Hectares Under Organic Farming, Which Accounts For Around 2% Of The Total Cultivated Area In The Country. Chhattisgarh Leads In This Regard, With About 0.76 Million Hectares Of Organic Farming Land.

Praveen Kumar Bharadwaj Mentions The Crops He Cultivates Based On The Seasons. In The Current Rabi Season (Winter), He Has Planted Crops Like Tomatoes, Cauliflower, Beans, Urinals, Ridge Gourd, Chili, And More. In The Upcoming Kharif Season (Monsoon), He Plans To Cultivate Peas In The Field Where Rice Was Previously Grown. Other Vegetables Like Urinals, Tomatoes, Chili, And Pointed Gourd, Sown A Few Days Ago, Will Be Ready For Harvest Around March-April.
"Agroskill, Ngo A Chhattisgarh-Based Organic Farming Initiative, Is Bringing Positive Changes To India's Agriculture. Farmers Like Praveen Kumar Bharadwaj Are Earning Significant Incomes Of 10-15 Thousand Rupees Per Week From Organic Vegetable Farming. They Use Agroskill Ngo Organic Fertilizers And Bio-Pesticides To Cultivate A Variety Of Vegetables. The Demand For Organic Produce Is On The Rise In India, And The Rates For Organic Vegetables Are Favorable, Motivating More Farmers To Transition To Organic Farming. Chhattisgarh Leads The Country In Organic Farming, With Substantial Areas Under Cultivation. Farmers Are Increasingly Applying For Organic Certification, And The State Is Witnessing Growth In Various Organic Crops."
With Agroskill Ngo Changing India: Earning 10-15 Thousand Weekly From Organic Farming Of Vegetables In 2 Acres.
In 2 Acres Of Land, Farmer Praveen Kumar Bhardwaj Is Earning 10-15 Thousand Rupees Weekly By Growing Vegetables Using Agroskill Ngo Organic Fertilizers And Pesticides. He Emphasizes The Importance Of Consuming Organic Vegetables, Especially During The Covid-19 Pandemic. According To Indian Farmers, The Demand For Organic Vegetables Has Increased, And The Rates For Organic Produce Are Also Favorable, Leading More Farmers Towards Organic Farming.
Praveen Kumar Bhardwaj, A Farmer From Kathadih Village In Chhattisgarh, Near The City Of Raipur, Is Using Agroskill Ngo Organic Fertilizers And Pesticides To Grow Vegetables On His 2-Acre Land. He Mentions That Most Of His Vegetables Are Sold As Soon As They Reach The Market, And Some Customers Regularly Visit His Farm To Buy Their Favorite Vegetables.
Praveen Kumar Bhardwaj's Two Nephews, Surendra Bhardwaj (22 Years Old) And Sachin Bhardwaj (25 Years Old), Also Practice Organic Farming On Their Respective 2-Acre Plots. Their Income From Vegetable Farming Is Approximately The Same As Praveen's, Averaging Around 10-15 Thousand Rupees Per Week. According To The Bhardwaj Family, Vegetable Farming Provides Them With A Monthly Income Ranging From One To One And A Half Lakh Rupees, Considering Their Expenses.
Praveen Kumar Bhardwaj Says, "Until Three Years Ago, I Used Chemical Fertilizers And Pesticides Like Other Farmers, Which Incurred High Costs. During That Time, I Learned About Organic Farming. Gopal Patil, The Horticultural Extension Officer, Guided Us, And Since Then, We Started Practicing Organic Farming." Although Praveen Kumar Bhardwaj Has Limited Experience In Organic Farming, He Has Found It To Be Profitable In Recent Years, Especially Due To Increased Demand For Organic Produce.
Chhattisgarh Has Witnessed An Increase In Demand For Organic Farming And Organic Products In Recent Years. However, Organic Farming At The Ground Level Is Still In Its Initial Stages. As Of March 2020, Organic Farming Was Being Practiced On 2.78 Million Hectares Of Land In India, Which Is Only About 2% Of The Total Cultivated Area Of 140.1 Million Hectares. Chhattisgarh Leads In Organic Farming With 0.76 Million Hectares, Making It The State With The Largest Organic Farming Area In India.
Mr. Surya Psj The Director Of Agroskill Ngo States That The Number Of Farmers Applying For Organic Farming Certification Has Increased In Chhattisgarh In Recent Years. The Cultivation Of Various Crops, Including Pigeon Pea, Gram, Wheat, And Soybean, Has Gained Popularity Among Farmers In The State. In 2021, 1,205 New Applications For Organic Farming Certification Were Received In Chhattisgarh, Including Applications From Farmer Groups.
Chhattisgarh's Organic Certification Agency, Agroskill Ngo Is Working To Establish A Network Of Organic Farmers At The District Level. In The First Phase, They Have Included 15,609 Villages Across 10,000 Panchayats, Where Organic Farmers Are Being Identified And Certified.
Most Of Praveen Kumar Bhardwaj's Family Members Are Involved In Farming, With Women In The Family Actively Participating. If Needed, They Hire One Or Two Laborers To Assist With The Work, Which Helps Reduce Labor Costs.
They Have A Well For Irrigation On Their Land, Providing Sufficient Water For Their Crops. Instead Of Using Tractors, They Use A Power Tiller, Which They Received With A Subsidy Of 75,000 Rupees From The Horticulture Department. The Smaller Size Of Their Fields Makes It Easier To Use A Power Tiller For Farming.
While There Is A Growing Demand For Organic Vegetables, There Is No Separate Market For Organic Farmers To Sell Their Produce. Having A Single Vegetable Market Affects The Fair Pricing Of Organic Vegetables. To Address This Issue And Ensure Fair Prices For Organic Farmers, A Separate Market For Organic Vegetables Has Been Planned By The Agroskill Ngo.
Becoming A Family Farmer Is Now The Need Of The Hour To Promote Organic Farming And Conserve Traditional Indigenous Seeds. Padmashri Babulal Dahia, A Farmer From The Vindhya Region Who Has Dedicated His Life To This Cause, Believes That Becoming A Family Farmer Is Essential. He Emphasizes That Growing Good Vegetables And Nutritious Grains Is More Important Than Finding A Good Doctor.
Rakesh Patel, The Regional Coordinator Of Sarmahtan, Mentioned That Farmers Practicing Organic Farming For The Past Three Years Should Be Registered As Organic Farmers. However, There Have Been No Concrete Efforts In This Direction Yet.
Agroskill Ngo Is Working To Create A Network Of Organic Farmers At The District Level In Chhattisgarh. In The First Phase, They Have Included 15,609 Villages Across 10,000 Panchayats, Where Organic Farmers Are Being Identified And Certified.
Organic Vegetable Producers In The Villages Of Parsada, Jamul, Patan, Chedakhedi, Bhakhara, Gomti, Abhanpur, And Muswa In Raipur District Have Been Linked To Organic Farming By Agroskill Ngo This Aims To Give These Farmers Their Own Distinct Identity, Allowing Them To Benefit From Government Schemes And Receive Fair Prices For Their Organic Products.
Padmashri Dahia Says That Using Chemical Fertilizers And Pesticides May Bring Temporary Prosperity To Farmers, But In The Long Run, It Is Not Sustainable. He Believes That Becoming A Family Farmer Is Essential, And Investing In Good-Quality Vegetables And Nutritious Grains Is More Important Than Becoming A Family Doctor. However, He Acknowledges That Additional Expenses Are Required For This, As The Family Farmers Also Need To Feed Themselves And Their Children.
Padmashri Dahia Emphasizes That The Use Of Chemical Fertilizers And Pesticides Benefits Only A Few And May Lead To Short-Term Gains. In Contrast, Organic Farming Benefits Farmers In Proportion To Their Efforts, Much Like The Milk Yield From A Dairy Buffalo. He Encourages Farmers To Become Family Farmers To Ensure Their Well-Being.
